Felting is a simple process of separating, twisting, and relocking fibres such as yarn or wool.Roving wool is used for Needle felting. But you can also use another kind of yarn available. A particular type of needle that has tiny points or barbs at the tip is used for wool felting. The barbs go in one direction in the wool. Needle Felting Is not hard to learn.

In the process of felting, the needle is stabbed into the wool. The points of the needle pull the wool in but don't make the wool fibres tangle, but their scales lock together and felt. It is not a couple of fibres but hundreds of threads that lock with each other, which causes the wool to felt.

To start, you can take a small project and continue to go on bigger ones. It will help you to learn new techniques until you reach to the intricate creations.

Needle felting cost depends on you, depending on how small or big is your depends on the complexity of your work. Also, it depends on the quality of the wool you use for the project.

While doing the felting project, keep the following things in mind:
Use of cushion while doing the felting project provides the most safety. It will avoid getting stabbed by the felting needle.

- Not sure how much wool you need, then start with a smaller piece. You can wrap new yarn around as per the requirement.

-The points on the felting needle are at the tip. The quick short stabs with the needle will make you felt faster but not necessary; the stabs of the needle may not go deep into the wool. Tough you will be using more time and energy, but it is not useful.

-You get many different sizes of felting needles. Even the points are in different patterns like star, triangle or swirl etc. You can also use tools which can hold multiple needles. Several sizes and types of needles for different types of wools are available.

-Always hold the wool properly so that you can see your finger. It will help you to poke carefully and first. You will avoid poking your finger.

-There are many varieties of wool available in the market. Use the right type of wool for felting.

-At the beginning of the project, purchase more than one needle. It isn't delightful to break your needle in the middle of your project. Also, the point of the felting needle may become blunt and need replacement. Be prepared for the emergency.

-Before starting a new project, keep aside some wool in each colour. It will help you at the time of correction or small modifications.

Thus, you will be able to improve the look of your project.

-Use a stencil or cookie cutter to make the shapes such as a heart, a triangle, or a circle.
